Colt 1855 Sidehammer Pocket Model 2 28 Caliber Made in 1856
Retains 65-70% blue
This is also known as the Colt Root, after the designer Elisha Root. It retains 65-70% blue and 95% grip varnish. The grips are very special. The cylinder retains 95-99% cylinder scene. The bore is very good bright and shinny with strong rifling but does have a couple of tiny blemishes from the black powder. Otherwise the bore would be excellent. This is a really nice 3.5” barrel 28 caliber, 5 shot Colt Root percussion pistol. The serial number is 12461 and is matching numbers. This is a second year production and was made in 1856. The grips on this one appear to be very special order.
