Possible Civil War usage
This is a 4” barrel, six shot New York address Colt 1849 Pocket. It is all matching numbers and is serial number 241555. These were popular pocket pistols and this one was made in 1863 so it could have been carried in the Civil War. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The safety pins are all intact. The bore is very good bright and shinny. There is about 30% faded blue and the case colors are about 40%. The grips retain 75% varnish and the cylinder scene is 75 to 80%. There is one tiny chip on the right toe bottom edge.
