Smith & Wesson First Model D.A. 44 Russian Made 1881
NEW FEBRUARY_PENDING SALE
Mechanical function is very good crisp and retains 35% nickel
This is a first year production serial number 232 and was made in early 1881. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight and the bore is about very good bright and shiny and only a slight amount of frosting. The grips are very good and no chips or cracks. All of the markings and numerals are sharp. No rust or pitting anywhere on the revolver. It has a 5Ē barrel. It retains 35% nickel but has over 65% blue on the trigger guard and hammer. The nickel didnít stick to this very early one. John Wesley Hardinís revolver was SN 352 and he was killed in 1895. More research should be done on this one.
