Description
This one is a neat 2 ½” Etched Panel Colt Lightning from Cogswell & Harrison 142, New Bond Street & 226 Strand, London. It comes with an oil canister, cleaning rod, screwdriver, 6 rounds of 380 ammo and a Queen Victoria Jubilee 1867 Commemorative Coin that was on a chain. The Colt is very good mechanical function and the bore is very good bright and shiny with strong rifling but does have some frosting. All of the markings are very sharp and crisp. The Etched Panes is sharp and crisp and the grips are very fine with sharp checkering and no chips or cracks. The serial numbers are all matching and is 25373 and was made in 1880. It retains 92% original nickel finish. Some has flaked off near the cylinder and barrel forcing cone and a little bit on the right side of the trigger guard. The box is nice and it has a key but doesn’t work in the lock. The green lining looks very nice and the wood box is fine. This one came from Senator Charles Ford collection and Cogswell & Harrison being the retailer is a nice plus.
