This is a Colt New Line 38 centerfire Second Model with the cylinder stop slots on the rear of the cylinder. It has an etched panel and ivory grips. The left ivory grip panel is chipped and scratched on the butt of the grip. The serial number is 11010 and the patent date is on the bottom of the barrel and the regular Colt Hartford on the barrel top. The mechanical function is very good and tight. The bore is bright and shinny with strong rifling. It retains about 70% original nickel finish. This was made in 1880. The 32, 38 and 41 New Line revolvers are thought to have shared the same serial number range.
