This Starr was made about 1865 and is all matching serial number 31015. There are inspector stamps in various places on the metal and two nice inspector cartouches on the wood grips. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The bore is very good with strong rifling but does show some fine corrosion in the grooves. The frame retains 60% blue while the lever and hammer have 60% case colors. Blue on the barrel is thin. This makes a very nice Civil War specimen in this condition.
