This is a nice Whitneyville Armory Model No. 1 Wide Cylinder, 6 shot 22 rimfire revolver. All of the serial numbers are matching with 140; but the barrel is 150. I think it was a factory mistake. The full serial number is 10140 with a D. These were made from 1871-1879. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The bore is good plus with strong rifling but does show some corrosion from the black powder. The barrel and frame retain 94% original nickel finish. The cylinder has over 60% nickel. The grips retain 96% varnish. This is a 2.25” barrel on this little bird’s head grip revolver.
