This is a large frame Witton & Daw’s D.A. 45 caliber percussion revolver. This was made in about 1858-1860 at 57 Thread Needle St. London and is an engraved 6 shot D.A. percussion with a wedge frame and under the barrel-loading lever. It retains 80% original blue finish with very good mechanical function. The 6” barrel is very good, bright and shiny with strong rifling. It is nicely engraved and has a rectangular initial plate on the middle rear of the pistol grip. There is also a percussion cap box in the bottom of the grip. This is for sure Civil War era and any large caliber revolver was in great demand during this period.
