This is the hard to find Allen & Wheelock Dragoon 36 caliber with a Worcester marked barrel. These were known as 49ers. The hammer is marked Allen’s Patent and the barrel is almost 6” long. The mechanical function is good plus and this one is serial number 40, under the grip. These were used during the 1849 California Gold Rush. It weighs in at just over 2 ½ pounds empty and it would take a big man to wield it. No blue remains, just an even patina over the entire pistol. The grips are very good and all of the nipples are intact.
