Description
This is a VERY RARE 31 caliber pocket revolver and is the baby brother of the Navy 36 caliber. There were 100 round barrel 4 ¼” made, and 100 with the round 4 1/4″ barrel. The inside of the grip is serial numbered 1806 and is all matching. The number 380 on the upper left corner of the grip is probably a rack number. According to Norm Flayderman these are VERY RARE. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The safety works and the bore has good rifling but does show a few small spots of corrosion. The number currently for sale anywhere is none. There sure can’t be more than a few remaining. Only traces of the original finish remaining. The matching serial numbers is 1806. These are like hen’s teeth, hard to find. There were 4,500 of the 3 1/4″ barrel length made but only 200 of the 4 1/4″ made.
