Description
This is an original German Model 1879 Reichsrevolver service pistol in 10.55 mm and is Regimentally marked on the butt. It is A.6. 70.46. and is all matching numbers and is serial number 6728. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is very good bright and shiny with strong rifling. The holster is maker marked on the back L Rigen/ Karlsruhe and dated 1900. Leather did not hold up as well as the revolvers so replacements were on hand at the arsenals. This service revolver retains 80% of the original brown color. My understanding is that reloads can be made with 44 S&W Russian brass and dies are available.
