Description

This is a very nice, highly engraved H. Scherping, Hanover, Germany, 43 Mauser Double Rifle Hammer Gun. The barrels are 26” and the lock up is crisp and tight. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The barrels retain 80% barrel blue. It has nice traces of case colors in the protected places. The bores are very good bright and shiny. The front wood has a sliver missing on the right side, about two inches long. All of the wood checkering is still sharp. The check piece has a nick on the edge. There is a peep sight and it is for 100 yards. It has two leafs 100 and 200 yards. The top rib is matted and the barrels ring solid. The 43 Mauser is fine for any animal from deer up to Elk. Brass is available from several sources. The weight is 7 pounds 2 ounces and has a 13 7/8 LOP. DAH 3” and DAC 1 5/8”. This is a really nice light-weight sporting rifle.
