Description
John Miles flintlock pistols are considered Secondary Military Single Shot Pistols. This is a Style A with the brass barrel. It is 62 caliber with a 9 ¼” brass barrel and is marked PHILDA and PROVED. It has a P proof mark on the left side of the barrel close to the tang. It has a hickory ram rod with an augur tip. The trigger guard is lightly engraved and the final isnicely engraved in the pattern of an acorn. The rear tang is also lightly engraved. The rear of the grip has a blank oval escutcheon plate. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is a smooth bore. Miles on the lock is a wavy pattern. This is an Original Flintlock Pistol.
