Description
This is a very rare 31 caliber pocket revolver and is the baby brother of the Navy 36 caliber. There were 100 round barrel 4 ¼” made, and 100 with the octagon 4 1/4″ barrel. The inside of the grip is serial numbered 1806 and is all matching. The number 380 on the upper left corner of the grip is probably a rack number. According to Norm Flayderman these are RARE. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The safety works and the bore has good rifling but does show a few small spots of corrosion. The number currently for sale anywhere is none. There sure can’t be more than a few remaining. Only traces of the original finish remaining. The matching serial numbers is 1806. These are like hen’s teeth, hard to find. There were 4,500 of the 3 1/4″ barrel length made but only 200 of the 4 1/4″ made.
