This is a hard to find iron frame Merrimack Arms Co. Southerner Deringer, 41 rimfire. It retains 80% blue and 30% shinny and fading case colors. The mechanical function is very good with sharp and crisp barrel address. The bore would be excellent bright and shinny except for one small patch near the muzzle end. Excellent wood grips are matching, SN 3180. These were made form 1866-1869. The iron frames are found in serial number range 1950-4500. This made up less than 30% of the production while the rest were brass frames. The iron frames are by far much harder to locate.
