This is a copy of the Colt 1862 Police and was made about 1864. The serial numbers began from 1101 to 3850. This one retains over 70% blue with very crisp mechanical function and a very good bright and shiny bore but does show some corrosion traces. It is a 4 ½” barrel in 36 caliber. This is serial number 1735 and all numbers are matching including the wedge. The grips retain 95% varnish on them. About 1600 of the Metropolitan Arms Co. marked revolvers were made.
