Description
This would have been a fantastic First Model American with about 70% blue but the barrel was shortened to a more manageable 4.25”. Had the barrel been 8” this would be a $5000 S&W. The bore and very good bright and shinny with strong rifling. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. This is ok for Canada and the UK. The serial number is 2247 and is probably first year production, 1870 or 1871. Only 8000 were made.
