Description
This is a S&W Factory rework with a star under the grip. It has New York engraving. It retains 98% of its refinish and has a 3” barrel. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is very good with strong rifling but does have a small amount of corrosion from the black powder priming. It retains 98% of its refinish and is nicely engraved with near excellent sharp-checkered grips. The serial number is 55920 and is matching numbers. They were made from 1878-1892 so this is about ½ way through the production run, probably about 1888 or before.
