Engraved nipple shield, crisp and tight

This is an Allen & Thurber Worchester 1837 Patent date with a 6 shot 30 caliber 4” barrel pepperbox. This has engraved nipple shield and side plates and retains 40% fading blue and brown finish. All markings are crisp sharp and the mechanical is crisp and tight. The grips are excellent. This was in time for the 1849 Gold Rush and the Civil War. Soldiers had six quick shots up and close. Both sided carried these as well as what ever they could get. Both sides were desperate for arms. This is serial number 288 so it is an early one.
