Description
Only 75,000-100,000 of the Colt Model 1861 Muskets was produced. Many were supplied for State Militia contracts also. Oil stained walnut stocks were standard and metal parts were finished in the white. The lock and barrel are dated 1864 and the Lock was marked U.S./Colts PT F.A. MFG CO./Hartford CT. On the left side of the wood there are two excellent Inspector Cartouches. The overall wood and metal rates Excellent Plus condition and the bore and mechanical function are excellent plus as well.
