Description
This Colt S.A. Army was shipped August 31, 1876 to J.P. Moores Sons New York, New York and was part of a 50-gun shipment. The barrel was shortened from 7 ½” to 5 ¼”. This is a nicely engraved Colt S.A.A. with after-market engraving and has bone grips. The serial number is 26,196 and the mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is very good with strong rifling but does have some fine corrosion. I am not a qualified gunsmith but with proper loads, I would not have a concern trying this Colt out. It comes with a Letter from the Office of the Colt Historian Beverly Jean Haynes.
