This one is a very early and is SN 44. It is marked E. Remington & Sons, ILION, N.Y. The 10 gauge Damascus brown barrels retain over 80% original brown. The front wood is fine but does have one small edge repair. The receiver retains over 80% original case colors and very nice wood and checkering. Mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The 30” barrels have nice bores and are very good bright and shiny. There is some fine corrosion in the first 10” inches forward of the chamber. The barrels have a beautiful bell tone ring to them. This is for sure a first year production 10 gauge shotgun.
