This is a U.S. Model 1840 flintlock rifle that was restored back from percussion to flint. The lock is dated 1841 and has a rack number 27 on the top of the wrist and FA stamped on both right and left on the butt stock. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight with a very good bore. The wood is very good also. All of the markings are visible and there is a partial wrist cartouche.
