Description
This is a well-made Longspur Copy by Wilson of York England with Patent No. 71 B. It is a 5 shot single action 40 caliber percussion revolver with side-mounted rammer. The mechanical function and index is very good and the bore is very good bright and shiny with strong rifling. It retains 45% blue with nice engraving on the frame, hammer, trigger guard and butt cap. The grips are very good with sharp checkering. James Webley, Birmingham, England 1858-1864 exhibited Thomas Wilson’s patent breach loading .577-caliber breech-loading military rifles and carbines and sporting arms at the International Exhibition, London, 1862.
