#4522 Colt 1855 44 Caliber Revolving Military Rifle <br>
This is a 44 caliber percussion revolving military rifle with a 31 5/16” barrel. The matching serial number is 2316 and less than 9310 were made 1856-1864. The mechanical function is good to good plus. The bore is good plus with strong rifling and some corrosion in the grooves. The wood is solid and not cracked but is dinged and scratched. The rear sight was replaced with an upgraded commercial hunting sight made by A.S. Handi. The finish has turned to a plum color and all of the nipples are in good condition.
