Good markings, mechanical good and crisp

Description

The Merrill Carbines were issued to N.Y. 1st, 5th and 18th; Penna. 11th, 17th, 18th; N.J. 1st; Indiana 7th; Wisc. 1st, 3rd; Ky, 27th; Del 1st. This is serial 5222 and is stamped on lock plate and or the rear of the loading lever and this has the brass butt compartment. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is very good, bright and shiny with on small traces of corrosion at the muzzle end. The brass toe plate has H stamped on it and the front of the trigger guard has H on the rt. Side of the trigger guard and forward of the mounting screw has an H. The wood has dings, dents and scratches but is solid condition. The front saddle ring mount has the H between the two mounting screws.
