Description
This is a Third Model with similar contours to the 2nd Model, about 7300 were made. This is a 6 shot 42 caliber front loading cylinder. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight and the bore is very good bright and shiny with nice rifling. There is a small amount of silver remaining on the frame. Only traces of blue in protected places. The markings are all sharp and crisp. This is serial number 3461 and the cylinder has all three patent dates. This was an attempt to circumvent the Rollen White bored through cylinder patent. The lever on the right side was to push the fired cartridge out of the cylinder. Merwin and Bray were Agents and Financiers for the Plant revolver.
