Description
This is Plants Mfg. Co. New Haven Ct. Second Model, Rounded Iron Frame front loading Army revolver. It is cup primed 42 caliber front loading 6 shot single action Army revolver. Estimated less than 350 were made mid 1860s. This is #534 and the mechanical function is very good with a very good bright and shiny bore with excellent rifling. This retains 30% original finish and is quite uncommon to find. Plant revolvers where to have been privately purchased sidearm during the Civil War.
