Description
This is a very RARE Mule Ear USR Cutter Jenks Carbine, 24 ¼” length barrel with 2 brass barrel bands. It has a breach loading round loading port. The markings are very good and clear. 1844 dated, inspector marked JCB with P and USR, Wm. Jenks and two Inspector Cartouches on the left wood flat. It has two nicely repaired wood cracks on the left side that run the same direction as the grain of the wood. The brass trigger guard has a B inspector mark and the brass butt plate has a B inspector mark. The mechanical function is very good and the smooth bore barrel does have some corrosion.
